Jams Rodriguez, a longtime resident of the Edenwald Houses on East 229th Street, said his mailbox has been broken for two months.
He told News 12 he and his neighbors have to go to a post office on White Plains Road to get their mail. That post office, he says, has long lines and only allows tenants to get their mail from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
"I can't go to that post office anymore. And there's a long line of other people waiting to get their mail. I have to stand on the line just to get my mail and it's uncalled for when we have a mailbox," Rodriguez said.

Aside from the mail, he told News 12 one of the two elevators in the building hasn't been in service for two months. He also noted he hasn't seen anyone working on repairing it.
News 12 reached out to C+C Apartment Management, and a spokesperson sent us this message:
"We are actively working to replace the mailbox door and are working with the United States Postal Service to replace the lock, which is under their jurisdiction. We encourage residents to reach out to management with any concerns as we work to promptly resolve this issue."
A source from the management company says the elevator that is out of service is getting modernization upgrades and is set to be back in service in five to six weeks. The person also noted that residents were informed of the upgrades through a monthly residents meeting and fliers posted throughout the building.
