A morning crash sent a small SUV into a mixed-use building on Goffle Road in Hawthorne, leaving the driver hospitalized and triggering temporary road closures.
The crash occurred Monday at 20 Goffle Road. First responders, including the Hawthorne Police Department, Hawthorne Fire Department and a Passaic County Sheriff's Office EMS unit, arrived at the scene to aid the vehicle's sole occupant.
The driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries. A borough building inspector was also called to the location to evaluate the structure following the impact.
Emergency responders and recovery crews detoured traffic in both directions along Goffle Road while the scene was cleared. A flatbed tow truck removed the wrecked SUV.
