Other Desert Cities is a Broadway revival of Jon Robin Baitz’s 2011 play about family conflict, political differences, and long-held secrets.
The story follows a young woman who returns to her family’s Palm Springs home and reveals plans to publish a memoir that could expose a painful family history. Her decision forces her conservative parents and younger brother to confront the past.
The revival stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Ed Harris, Lily Rabe, Joe Keery and Allison Janney and is directed by John Benjamin Hickey.
Set against the political climate of the early 2000s, the play explores generational differences, family loyalty, grief and the tension between personal truth and protecting loved ones.
