Charges have been filed against the driver of a car that crashed into a New Jersey Transit bus, injuring nine people Friday.
Andre Price, 27, has been charged with aggravated assault by auto and leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury.
The accident happened just before 2 a.m. Friday when a NJ Transit bus traveling along South Eighth Street in Newark was involved in a crash with a 1998 Cadillac Eldorado driven by Price. Several passengers and the bus driver were taken to University Hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
According to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office, Price fled the scene after the crash and was found at a nearby gas station. His passenger has been hospitalized and is in critical condition. Price was also taken to University Hospital to be treated for injuries.
The prosecutor's office obtained a search warrant to take blood from the Cadillac for evidence.
