A Matawan man accused of running over two teenagers at an illegal car meet in Robbinsville is facing multiple charges.

Police say they received a call reporting the illegal meet near Applegate Drive on Sept. 21. Upon their arrival, around 50 drivers took off.

Officers at the scene discovered that a 16-year-old and an 18-year-old were hurt. Police have not disclosed their condition.

Investigators identified the driver who ran them over as 23-year-old Kyle Pound. The charges against him include aggravated assault, assault by auto, endangering an injured victim and leaving the scene with serious injury.

Police say he is being held at the Mercy County Correction Center.
