The Monmouth County town has banned all street parking, except in the business district. This applies to everyone -- residents, non-residents, locals, and out of towners.
The sign at the begging of town warns drivers of the new ordinance. Spring Lake is home to around 3,000 mostly full-time residents.

There is no parking along the beach or side streets. The only exception is 3 Avenue, where people can park for 30 minutes to pick up a pizza order or stop at the pharmacy.
"It works for us in the sense we have most of the people in town have driveways large enough to accommodate their cars, so it's something we can easily do," says Spring Lake Administrator Bryan Dempsey.
Work is also one the exceptions. People are allowed to bike, walk or jog, even from adjoining towns, just make sure to leave the cars at home.
