An event was held in Bergenfield Wednesday night to raise money for a scholarship fund that honors a former wrestling star who saved lives through organ donation.
Danny Glover died in a car crash six years ago. He was 24 years old.
Glover saved several lives after he died through organ donations. His family has been working with the New Jersey Sharing Network and recently starting the non-profit Donors for Danny in order to raise awareness for organ donation.
All of the money raised went towards the scholarship fund set up in Glover’s name. His mother Karyn Glover says that these events help to keep her son’s legacy alive.
"It is therapeutic because it keeps his memory alive…knowing he saved eight people’s lives…that’s pretty incredible,” she says.
Karyn says that she and Glover talked about this wish to be an organ donor about a month before his death.
