Stores in New Jersey were well-prepared for fans ready to celebrate the New York Mets advancing to the World Series on Wednesday.
Dick's Sporting Goods in Woodbridge opened immediately after the Mets clinched the National League pennant by defeating the Chicago Cubs 8-3 in Game 4 of the NLCS, selling merchandise to celebrate the occasion.
With the win, the Mets advanced to their first World Series since 2000.
The store reopened at 6 a.m. Thursday, offering hats, T-shirts and other memorabilia.
The first game of the World Series is Tuesday, Oct. 27.
