“This adjustment fosters a more equitable economy and ensures our workforce can continue to thrive,” Labor Commissioner Robert Asaro-Angelo wrote in a statement.
New Jersey’s minimum wage was $8.60 per hour when Gov. Phil Murphy took office in 2018. The governor signed legislation in 2019 to increase the state’s minimum hourly wage to $15.13 per hour by Jan. 1, 2024.
