The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) officials say three adult camp counselors are recovering after they were attacked by a bobcat.
Authorities say the attack happened in Selden Neck State Park in Lyme.
DEEP officials say one of the counselors was asleep in a hammock on Selden Neck Island early Friday morning when the animal attacked him.

All three adult counselors subsequently killed the bobcat to protect the young campers in their care at the Wilderness School.
DEEP has confirmed that the bobcat tested positive for rabies.
