A Hillside family is without power after a massive tree crashed into their home during the nor'easter.
The tree fell onto the house on Wilder Street after strong winds and saturated ground uprooted it.
Large sections of the tree landed on the roof, damaging parts of the garage and living room.
A husband, wife and son were inside the home when the tree came down. No injuries were reported.
Township officials inspected the property and determined it was safe for the family to remain in the home despite the damage.
"It hit on this side of the house which is our garage and part of the living room," homeowner Jo-Ann Horton Givens said. "There's not damage to any parts of the bedrooms or anything, but there is some damage inside but not enough to keep us from still staying in the house at this moment."
A tree company was expected to remove the fallen tree so the extent of the damage could be assessed. The family is also concerned about another tree on the property.
