A Monmouth County fire department is welcoming a new member to the crew.

Gus is the newest four-legged member of the Deal Fire Department. Officials say Gus will help reduce stress levels at the firehouse and provide companionship for the firefighters.

They say the former stray dog was adopted from the Monmouth County SPCA in Eatontown.
