Newly released documents have become fodder for both Gov. Jon Corzine and Republican challenger Chris Christie's campaign to question the other candidate's conduct.
The two campaigns have been trading jabs over travel records from Christie's tenure as a U.S. attorney and a memo from a Corzine staffer.
The travel records show Christie exceeded limits on travel expenses, spending nearly $100,000 on trips made as a U.S. attorney. The governor's campaign accuses Christie of making taxpayers foot the bill on expensive trips while at the same time prosecuting others for abusing travel expenses.
Meanwhile, a leaked memo from Corzine's deputy chief of staff urged cabinet members to hold as many events as possible to highlight what the administration has done to create jobs - even though it may be a "stretch." Christie's camp says that constitutes using government workers for campaign duties.
