Independent gubernatorial candidate Chris Daggett has hit the airwaves with his first commercial.
The commercial pokes fun at Daggett's two better known rivals by depicting Gov. Jon Corzine and Republican frontrunner Chris Christie getting stuck on an escalator. Both stand-ins are unable to handle the stalled escalator; Christie gets exasperated and yells as Corzine continues reading the Wall Street Journal waiting for someone else to "bail them out."
Daggett is the first Independent candidate for governor to qualify for matching campaign funds in New Jersey, allowing him to make the commercial.
