A local Cyclebar instructor has gone viral on social media after sharing her journey of becoming an instructor.
Amanda Hinds says she was in utter disbelief when her video reached more than 1 million people and was liked over 188,000 times.
The video starts with her teaching herself how to be an instructor back in 2021. It then skips to 2024 where she is thriving - teaching Cyclebar classes in Jersey City and in Montclair.
The video has over 3,000 comments with people posting messages like, “You make me feel safe” and “You motivated me to go try out a class.”
Hinds wants people to know that anyone can accomplish what they put their minds to while preaching body inclusivity.
“I used to think riding here, people that don’t look like me, I maybe won’t fit in, I maybe can’t do the class well… so seeing people see that I am on the podium, so now they feel inspired that they can come to take a class and they feel motivated, less afraid, I feel the video and the attention of the video did a lot more than it was supposed to do,” says Hinds.
She says she’s gained a ton of new riders who were persuaded and motivated by what she’s posted online.
She teaches in Jersey City on Tuesdays and Saturdays and in Montclair on Sundays.
