Road crews are still working to remove a tractor-trailer from the Ramapo River after it went over a concrete barrier along Route 287 in Bergen County Wednesday night.
The truck, labeled with a Wal-Mart logo, was carrying thousands of gallons of Gatorade when it struck a Ford Fusion. The trailer detached and went over the barrier into the water.
The truck cab's gas tank ruptured, spilling fuel onto the roadway and into the river below. The cab also caught fire.
The driver of the Fusion suffered minor injuries and is expected to be OK. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
