Road crews worked around the clock Monday to help dig the Garden State out from the snow.
Most parts of New Jersey were hit with at least 8 inches Sunday overnight into the morning. According to Gov. Corzine, it cost New Jersey approximately $6 million to clean the snowy mess.
Rich Florian worked 30 hours straight with his crew to clear the roads. He's driven plows for the Turnpike Authority for 17 years. His crew clears the Parkway and Turnpike as well as parking lots, U-turns and park and rides.
Florian says frost can't stop him from doing his job.
"Cold don't get me," he says.
The Turnpike Authority says there were surprisingly few accidents on the state's two major roads for a winter storm of this size. By the time the worst of the weather ended around noon, fewer than 100 accidents had been reported on the Parkway and fewer than 50 on the Turnpike. State police reported approximately 500 vehicle incidents during the course of the storm.
