Firefighters in Clifton battled a house fire Thursday afternoon on Christie Avenue. It broke out around noon, and it was brought under control in less than an hour.
"We overhauled, opened up all the walls and ceilings making sure there was no extension of fire," said William Legates, Deputy Chief with Clifton Fire Department. "Nobody got injuries, the house was empty on arrival. The guys did a good job."
Officials say it appeared the fire started in the home's boiler room. The cause remains under investigation.
