(AP) - New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine's thirdcommunications director is out.
Deborah Howlett has been transferred to a position in thegovernor's policy office.
Steve Sigmund, chief of public and governmental affairs at thePort Authority of New York and New Jersey, has taken over on aninterim basis starting Monday.
Howlett, a former reporter for The Star-Ledger of Newark, washired for the $137,500-a-year job last year.
She succeeded Anthony Coley and Ivette Mendez.
Corzine has had difficulty conveying his objectives andaccomplishments throughout his first term.
Recent polls indicate he trails Republican challenger ChrisChristie in his bid for re-election.
