Certain businesses in Hoboken
will be required to record customer information for contact tracing purposes,
starting Friday.
Mayor Ravi Bhalla, as well as
the Hoboken Office of Emergency Management, announced the new requirements to
boost contact tracing efforts.
The businesses include restaurants, bars, gyms, wellness establishments, fitness studios,
salons, and health clubs. Grocery and retail stories are not on the contact
tracing list, nor is take-out or delivery services.
Contact information is needed
anywhere there is prolonged contact with customers or employees. The information will only be
shared with the Hoboken Health Department in the event of a positive COVID-19
case.
