Although restaurants are hopeful about the latest indoor dining boost to 35%, some say they are still struggling to make ends meet.
Gargulio’s in Coney Island says its opulent dining room area is barely meeting the 35% capacity mark.
The restaurant has been open since 1907. They say they appreciate having any indoor dining but that it barely covers their expenses.
“We were out of work for so many months to bring back 40, 50 people in a building that holds 120, it’s a real struggle for the workers, for the staff, the kitchen help,” said Anthony Russo.
The owner tells News 12 their business has been decimated.
The restaurant says there was a wedding scheduled for Friday night that was pushed back for a third time.
