Friends and family are still reeling after the deaths of four children and their grandmother in a South Plainfield house fire.

The superintendent at Franklin Elementary School says grief counselors were on hand at the school yesterday. Some of the victims were students at the school.

All of the victims were found on the second-floor of the converted farmhouse. However, fire officials say intense flames prevented firefighters from getting access to that floor.

The fire chief says volunteer firefighters who responded to the call are also having a tough time coping with the deaths. He says people are quick to thank firefighters when everything is OK, but it's even more important to do it when it's not.

A grief and stress team from the state of New Jersey is on hand today to talk to the firefighters who took the call.
