The Coast Guard says nine New York Waterway boats have been taken out of service due to safety violations.
It's unclear what the violations are, but the Coast Guard says the violations on the boats were serious enough pose a threat to passengers.
A New York Waterway spokesperson told News 12, "There is no impact on service. Most of the infractions have been addressed and the boats will go back into service once the Coast Guard reinspects."
Officials haven't said if any more boats will be taken out of service, but more inspections will continue and New York Waterway is hopeful all issues will be resolved over the weekend.
New York Waterway is the ferry service that takes people from New Jersey ports into Manhattan.
