Some residents in Clifton are upset with the city over what they say are broken promises about a skate park.
The citizen group Clifton Watchdog tells News 12 New Jersey that Clifton officials promised to reopen a skate park last year, but now the site is filled with construction equipment instead.
"I think it's appalling that any public park has been closed for this amount of time," says Mary Sadrakula, with Clifton Watchdog. "I'm a huge open-space advocate and this is not right."
According to the Clifton city manager, all new equipment has been purchased for the park and it is expected to be delivered within the next two weeks.
City officials hope to have the park complete with security cameras by next spring.
