The city of Paterson has received an additional $20 million in tax credits.
City officials say that the money will be used to benefit city projects such as the revitalization of the historic Hinchliffe Stadium.
Officials say that most of the $20 million will be used to restore the baseball stadium.
“Like Paterson, the bones of this building are still strong. That its stories are far from finished from being written. And that a vibrant community can once again thrive in its shadow,” Gov. Phil Murphy said.
The stadium was part of the Negro Baseball League and once hosted more than a dozen Baseball Hall of Famers.
