Police said Edgar Ismalej-Gomez is being charged with hindering prosecution, two counts of tampering with evidence and cruelty to persons.
Officials said an investigation and evidence uncovered his potential complicity in actions endangering the child's welfare in the days before his death.
Liam Rivera was found buried in Cummings Park.
The child’s mother was also arrested.
Stamford police said there’s an active investigation into this case.
