Streetwear designers from all over the Garden State gathered in Jersey City this weekend for the Jersey Creators Market.
Dozens of designers and artists were all under one roof for the sold-out event on Saturday and the place was packed with numerous talented creators from New Jersey.
The event was held at Vanilla Skies Event Spaces in the Topps Industrial Building on Newark Avenue.
"There's a lot of events in the city but not really in New Jersey that's curated, a really cool experience targeting toward certain demographics and people who are really into fashion," said Olivia Glowacka, founder of the Jersey Creators Market.
Glowacka started running the event less than a year ago in New Jersey and Brooklyn after starting her tooth gem business.
Saturday's market alone had 50 vendors and bought more than 750 shoppers. Vendors came from places like New York, Philadelphia and Brazil, but most were from New Jersey.
"It feels like a family reunion, kind of. You see people you haven't seen in a while, you meet new people, everybody's always dressed well," said Rashid Gaines, a visual artist from Newark.
The market is also a way for shoppers to catch the latest trends, find something different and support local designers.
Yohayra and Yoherry Azcona are designers who own a jewelry brand called Azcona.
"I'm an attorney. She's in banking, so we never felt comfortable expressing ourselves or standing out too much, and we wanted a way to individualize the power suit, so we created very bold and unique accessories," Yohayra Azcona told News 12.
Shoppers can continue to find even more brands on Sunday inside. The next creators market for New Jersey will be on July 13 and 14.
