At least one apartment was destroyed after a fire erupted at an apartment complex in Point Pleasant Beach Sunday afternoon.
It only took a few seconds from when people noticed smoke coming from the windows at the Beacon Gardens Apartments to become an all-out inferno.
Tony Bartone, owner of the Ark Pub and Eatery restaurant that is next to the apartments, gave News 12 New Jersey video of the fire that he recorded.
Bartone said he was at work when he stepped outside and saw smoke. By the time he got off the phone with 911 dispatchers, the smoke had intensified.
It only took a minute or two before first responders arrived, and then flames shot out of the windows.
No one was hurt in the incident.
Ocean Fire Company and Point Pleasant Beach Fire Company No. 2 made an aggressive attack inside the apartment unit and were able to control the fire within a few minutes.
Point Borough and South Wall EMS crews responded to the scene to provide medical assistance.
The local and county fire marshals are investigating the cause of the fire.
It's unclear how many other apartments may have sustained smoke or water damage.
