The Cape May County Park & Zoo is among the locations in New Jersey accepting real Christmas tree donations for its animals.
"In our barnyard, we have a lot of goats," said Alexander Ernst, a veterinarian with Cape May County Park & Zoo. "They love to eat them, and we can give them at least a tree per day, and they'll knock it right down. We'll give them to our lions and our lions will bat them around like a cat would bat a little cat toy around."
Trees should not be sprayed with anything and all decorations must be removed.
The zoo is accepting donations until Jan. 12.
