A Jersey City man is in a coma after a hit-and-run crash that was captured on surveillance cameras.
Eduardo Torres, 53, suffered internal bleeding after being struck by a Ford pickup Saturday. He is in critical condition at Jersey City Medical Center and has been placed in a medically induced coma due to his injuries.
Video footage of the incident shows the driver hitting Torres without stopping after the crash. Police say the driver accelerated and swerved in an attempt to dislodge Torres from the vehicle. They estimate the car was traveling at 35 to 40 mph in a 25 mph zone.
Authorities are asking for the public's help in locating the Ford's driver.
