There were heavy delays on the Garden State Parkway due to the buckling of the road on the southbound lanes near Exit 82.
Traffic stretched from the Toms River Park and Ride to Cedar Bridge Avenue in Lakewood.
It was not clear how long it would take to make repairs to the roadway.
