A family duo is putting racing on hold to help pets affected by Harvey.
Anthony and Amanda Sesely are planning to park their modified racer for a good cause, using their hauler that usually houses a vehicle to bring pet supplies to animals in the Houston area.
Their hauler will house food bowls, flea collars, cages and hundreds of pounds of pet food.
They also plan to return home with dozens of dogs from the Houston area in order to get them out of harm's way.
The plan came together when Anthony texted Amanda Monday night saying that their race hauler gave them the means to help those affected by the storm. By Tuesday, planning quickly went into motion.
Amanda volunteers with Home Free Animal Rescue, who have helped pick the dogs that will be coming back to New Jersey with them.
The operation will be swift – it will be a 24-hour drive each way, and they will spend just 24 hours on the ground in Texas before departing.
The two plan to leave Friday and are due to return Monday.
