Three officers in Woolwich Township are being called heroes after saving a boy who fell into freezing water on Sunday afternoon.

Police said officers responded to a report of a child stuck on a frozen pond.

One officer crawled onto the ice to reach the boy, but the ice gave way. Two other officers jumped into the water and pulled everyone to safety.

The department is reminding residents to stay off the ice.
