A body was recovered Thursday morning from the Passaic River, according to police.

A body was recovered Thursday morning from the Passaic River, according to police.
Newark police and firefighters responded to the Passaic River near Blanchard Street just before 11:30 a.m. for reports of a body in the water.
Newark firefighters recovered the body. The victim was pronounced dead at 1:40 p.m.
It was currently unclear how the person died. The name of the victim was not immediately known.
