Jamesburg house fire leaves 2 dead

Two people were killed and another person was rescued after a house fire tore through a home on Front Street in Jamesburg early Sunday morning, according to authorities.
The fire broke out at approximately 1:02 a.m. at a residence on Front Street. Upon arrival, first responders found a 39-year-old woman inside the home who was transported to Old Bridge Medical Center for treatment.
Sandra Dutcher, 67, of Jamesburg, was also found inside the residence with serious injuries. She was transported to the hospital but was pronounced deceased en route.
Authorities located a third resident inside the home who was unresponsive. That person was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Mayor Thomas Emens said he arrived at the scene about 10 minutes after the fire began and found the front and side of the home engulfed in flames. The porch structure had collapsed, and the fire was rapidly spreading throughout the residence.
Emergency crews battled the blaze through the early morning hours before extinguishing it by sunrise.
Two firefighters were also transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
In a statement, Emens thanked the Jamesburg Fire Department, Jamesburg Police Department, Monroe Township EMS, mutual aid fire departments, county officials and other emergency responders for their response.
“Most importantly, I ask that we keep the family, their loved ones, and everyone affected by this tragedy in our thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time,” Emens said.
