When school starts in September, classrooms in Jersey City may be empty.
The Board of Education approved the superintendent's plan to continue with 100% remote learning due to spikes in COVID-19 cases that happened when some schools across the nation reopened.
Initially, 33% of Jersey City students were supposed to return for in-person instruction Sept. 10.
The plan must now be approved by the state Education Department.
