A Black Lives Matter protester says he was defending himself when he hit a man this weekend on the boardwalk in Seaside Heights.

Jamaal Holmes, 28, of Toms River, says the man was grabbing his mask.
According to police, Holmes was arrested and charged with assault.
Police say the 68-year-old man fell to the ground and received a small cut on the back of his head. They say Holmes got into a verbal argument with the man before hitting him.
