When it comes to living life in New Jersey. Sometimes you just can't give a fork like news. 12, New Jersey's Tony Caputo and photojournalist, Rudy Bode. They're doing it this morning for best of New Jersey. Tony. You're at no Forks given in Jersey City. What are you dying on this morning, Simon? This place is right up your alley because you like to write those little puns when we cover news and this and that. I mean, no forks given. Why at heart is the owner? Let, let's start right there. Got a great sandwich. I'm gonna show up in a minute. The name. No Forks given. What's up with that? I love it. It's just a play on words just trying to, uh, be a little punny and funny. And, uh, you know, I just wanted to make handheld food and, uh, you know, I thought that was a perfect name for it. I love it. No Forks Given and we eat early every Tuesday morning and we don't give a fork about that either. Now, what do you got going on here? I mean, obviously you have some fries. I've been snacking on them, but you're gonna dress them up a little bit for us. Yeah, we're gonna make Togashi fries right here is our Sriracha mayo that we make in house. Hm. Lather that up. Well, we use a Tuga spice, which is a Japanese chili spice. That is what I call dressing them up, man. Look at that. That is delicious. And then we put some more sesame seeds on top of that. Fantastic. And we're going to finish it some scallions. Wow. And then you got that ranch chicken sandwich over there that I've been eyeing up for quite some time. That is beautiful. Tell us about that. So the ranch fried chicken sandwich, it's a buttermilk fried chicken sandwich that uh we then put our homemade dill buttermilk ranch and then we put our roasted uh garlic tomatoes and then a bacon jam on top of it. And that's your specialties chicken sandwiches, right? Chicken sandwiches and cheesesteaks. Yeah. Wow. Let me try that. Hm. That's awesome. That is a great way to start a rainy Tuesday morning. That is delicious. No, Fort Jersey City brand new. Two months, two months in they were food truck. Now, they're brick and mortar. Try it out. That's in New Jersey guys. You can't beat that. That is a great way to start any morning. Yeah, we'll get back up. You can go for yourself. There you go. I'm gonna do that right now and send it back to you. I was going to ask if they actually have any forks because we did see a spoon and that is an intense sandwich. No fork needed for the sandwich, but for those fries maybe.

Well, we continue here in the newsroom just to not give a fork this morning, like news 12, New Jersey's Tony Caputo, photo journalist, Rudy Bo doing it this morning for our best of New Jersey segments. Yeah, it's because they're checking out a restaurant called No Forks Given in Jersey City. Tony. What are you gonna eat this time? I'm gonna eat whatever they make, that's for sure. And I've already eaten half a sandwich and it was delicious. And even though it's called No Forts Given, they have some forts here. Don't worry about it. We have Forts as well. Me, Dori is here. This is Wyatt's wife and partner in life in the business and everything else. You as a woman always does remembers dates much better, I think than men. Do you remember? This was a significant date that we've come here, correct? Yes. Today is our six year anniversary of the business. No forks given. So, yeah, super excited to have you here guys and doing the Peruvian Fried chicken sandwich. Is that what that is Peruvian Fried Chicken this time? Correct? Now, these chicken sandwiches, these are your specialties right now and he is dressing it up right now. What is he doing? He is adding a Mario sauce and a which is Peruvian native sauce and it's influenced by Peru. And yeah, I love it. I love Peruvian coffee too. By the way, I've had plenty of that over the years. Why? I mean, where, where are you going with this? I mean, is this, is this the skyscraper Peruvian? What, what is this throwing the kitchen sink at it? Now, be honest, is that how you would make it for anybody who wants in every time? So we do uh we put pickled onions on top, scallions and cilantro. Uh You know, it's my take on a Peruvian fried chicken sandwich. You know, I put a little bit of the Sriracha mayo, which has that kind of Asian influence in the Peruvian food. And then along with the uh which is a Peruvian pepper, like my wife said. Now the last half hour, last hour you made that ranch and I'm ready to show the ranch because you'll notice Sima and Nick half of it's gone. I can tell you where half of it is. It's, it's right here. It's gone. I took that out of the truck and I devoured that because it was fantastic. I'm sure the Peruvian is great as well. It's no forks given here in Jersey City. They were a food truck. Now, they're brick and mortar. You can't beat it. Fantastic guys. Well done. That. Looks like an awesome sandwich and I'm gonna eat half of that one. Now, what do you think of that? Time for best of New Jersey. Sometimes you just don't give a fork with News 12, New Jersey's Tony Caputo photojournalist, Rudy Bo this morning. Yeah. They're checking out a restaurant with a funny name. There's a reason why you said that they've been eating all morning long. No forks given in Jersey City. Tony. How's the food? The food is great. The name is better. We've had so much fun with the name this morning. We'll continue to have fun with them around. No fork in there. It is right there on the back of his shirt. It's on the front of the store too here in Jersey City. Fantastic. And having a delicious chicken sandwich, but it's not just chicken sandwiches here. No forks give it the cheese steaks killing it with that too. Why it is here. He's the owner, run with his wife and family. They're running a great little business here. Opened the brick and mortar a couple of months back after running a truck for several years. What do you got going for us now, buddy? I'm doing a classic cheese steak over here and then we have a Korean barbecue cheese steak. We're working on and I have a go soy sauce, glaze goa is a Korean chili paste. And uh yeah, finishing off these guys right now for you. You uh kind of take it from all around the world, huh? You got uh the Peruvian chicken sandwich? You got the Korean cheese steak going on here. Wait, wait. Is that a big seller? The Korean Korean is a big seller, man. Yeah, we sell a lot of, oh, wow. And uh you know, I'm from Philly, right? I mean, you, you're really uh throwing it out there. Yeah, I don't know if this is like uh you know, so in Korean barbecue cheese, I always like to throw that little curveball in there when somebody makes up a cheesecake cheesesteak. You know, I'm from Philly, right? And they're like, uh I'm sure it's gonna be fantastic because look at first of all, it looks great. It looks delicious just like your chicken sandwich did earlier. Um What do you got? This is onions here. That's just the classic onions and cheese and steak. Nothing to it. No onions on this one, no onions on this. And I have a uh a uh uh coleslaw with scallions and sesame seed. So I'm supposed to bite that right there. I mean, look at this a little intense but you know, I can, I can cut it for you. Look at that baby that's gonna be all over me, man. Let people seem to like that for some reason. I don't know. It's, yeah, I guess so but let me try that. Uh Wow. No fork giving folks. You, you gotta, you gotta try this place. Mm Good of Clayton. A napkin. Delicious. Wow. Oh man, that boom. That explodes in your mouth, guys. That is fantastic. The best of New Jersey here. No forks given. That is really good. Well done, well done. Back to you guys. You know, Tony, I was about to say no for given, but hopefully plenty of napkins, lots of napkins eat it. And even for that sandwich, you know, that cheesesteak coming out of the, uh, roll. So that's an impressive sandwich for sure.

When it comes to the best of New Jersey. Sometimes you just can't give a fork. You definitely though. Need a napkin. New New Jersey's Tony Caputo and photojournalist, Rudy Bod are at no forks given in Jersey City. Tony. You've been eating all morning long. Are you full yet? No, I'm never full. I'm always ready to go give me 20 minutes of digestion and I'm right back in the game. There's no doubt about that. No forgiven. We've got a ball here with some delicious food. It's a family affair. No doubt about that. We have and Mari, his wife here and Dean and his father here as well. You know, Dean was in the business for many years carrying the camera like photojournalist, Rudy Boat. It's been great. He's been like Rudy. You're doing that wrong. I've been telling Rudy that for years. But do you guys run a great place here? You got a great shot. Uh Why if you want to dress that up for us? But tell me why this is such a great family affair and why it was so special for you guys to get out of the truck and get into brick and mortar like you have. I think the most important thing is just consistency. There is a lot of different elements that are always changing, whether it was the weather or just, you know, even the traffic streets and potholes. And I think the most important thing for us and especially for my husband, for Wyatt is to come into a storefront where he doesn't have to worry about those elements and just be able to do what he likes to do, which is cook, delicious food. But you're doing that. There's no doubt about that. I mean, these were all fantastic and what I, what I've tasted and what I've eaten. It's, I mean, what do you, if somebody comes in and says, what do you recommend? Which one of these beautiful sandwiches are you going to recommend to them? I would say the biggest seller here is the Korean fried chicken that we always sell. OK. Uh For me, it's the Peruvian just because it's kind of has a sentimental spot with uh my wife. Your wife is Peruvian. That's a great answer, man. That might be the best thing. That was fantastic, man. That is the best in New Jersey. It is great. Hey, it's no Forts Given. It's Jersey City. It's a family affair. The food is awesome. We've had a great time guys. You really need to come out here and try. I know you got a place in your heart for Jersey City. As well. You can't beat it. It's a good spot. No, Forts given. Fantastic, the best in New Jersey.

Best of New Jersey: Trying out new restaurant No Forks Given in Jersey City

News. 12 New Jersey's Tony Caputo and photo journalist Rudy Bo visited a creatively named restaurant this morning as part of its best of New Jersey segment. It's named No Forks Given. It's where comfort food, like delicious chicken sandwiches. Get a worldly twist. We have a Peruvian style that's been influenced by my wife who is from Peru and then we have an Italian style. We do classics just like a Southern butter milk and then a buffalo. We have a Korean fried chicken sandwich that's been sells a lot. They all sound like winners to me and don't forget the cheese steaks don't sleep on those. They're a big part of the menu with some of the same delicious worldly flavors available. And every Tuesday morning it's the best of New Jersey. You can watch it only here on news. 12 New Jersey.
