A lone black bear was spotted hanging out in a tree Monday afternoon at the Morristown Green.
Large crowds of people gathered to catch a glimpse of the bear and began taking pictures and posting to social media about the experience.
Police officers cordoned off the area around the tree as a precaution.
The New Jersey Department of Fish and Wildlife was called in to relocate the bear.
The bear was tranquilized and brought down in a bucket truck by firefighters.
The 230-pound bear was tagged by officials and brought back to the woods.
