Some beaches along the Jersey Shore were reopened Wednesday after heavy rains forced their closure.
Swimming was not allowed at the beaches at Brown and York Avenues in Spring Lake and The Terrace and Beacon Boulevard in Sea Girt, so the DEP could test them for high bacteria levels. Monday's rainy weather had created storm runoff from 'Wreck Pond' in Spring Lake.
Test results for the beaches in Spring Lake and Sea Girt came back late Wednesday afternoon, when they were reopened.
