Authorities identified on Sunday the man who died after an encounter with police in Deptford.

They say 24-year-old Mitchell Negron died after a gun battle on Friday around 12:30 p.m. that injured Officer Bobby Shisler of Deptford Township.

A GoFundMe page has raised nearly $80,000 as of Sunday for Shisler.

Both Shisler and Negron were shot during a struggle after the officer conducted a pedestrian stop and then chased Negron.

It's unclear why Shisler stopped Negron.

The Attorney General's office provided few specifics as it continues to investigate the incident.
