Additional police officers are being deployed to airports in New Jersey and New York after an attack at an airport in Istanbul, Turkey.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said Tuesday that travelers should expect to see officers with tactical weapons patrolling at Newark International Airport and New York's John F. Kennedy and LaGuardia airports.
Port Authority officials said they were continuing to monitor the situation in Turkey alongside federal and local officials, including the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force.
They say the latest action is in addition to several counter-terrorism patrols ordered following the attack on an Orlando nightclub earlier this month.
