The Ansonia Police Department says a 22-year-old woman and a 6-month-old girl have been found safe after being abducted by the girls' father Saturday.
According to a news release from the police department, Joshua Lopez, 23, of Ansonia, abducted Galylea Perez, 22, and 6-month-old Eliana Lopez at 5:15 p.m.
Joshua Lopez was driving a four-door silver Honda Accord with Massachusetts registration 2NCT89. He implied he had a gun, but no weapon was displayed.
A police statement earlier in the day said there is currently a no contact court order out of New York City against Joshua Lopez involving Perez.
Ansonia police say they were contacted by the Shelton Police Department around 7 p.m. and were notified that Joshua Lopez was in custody.
