With over a thousand bottles of tequila, Meximodo in Metuchen officially was recognized as the eatery with the world's largest tequila collection.
The Mexican restaurant claimed the title Wednesday on National Tequila Day as a Guinness World Record holder.
The restaurant's collection of tequila ranges from small, family-owned brands to larger well-known ones.
"This is amazing. An amazing accomplishment and we couldn’t have done this without the hard-working team that put months and months work into this,” said Meximodo owner Saurabh Abrol. “This is the biggest accomplishment. I've been in this industry for the last 25 years, and this one really feels special."
Meximodo opened in November 2023.
