News. 12 is celebrating the best beaches of New Jersey. And this morning we're on Long Beach Island, enjoying the family fun news. Twelve's Lauren do is in Beach Haven. The first spot of course has to do with coffee. Lauren. What's good at the crust? And Crumb Bakery? Of course, you have to have the ale in years, Jennifer. This has been in your family forever. How many years? Over 35 years, over 35 years, owned and operated in original recipes? You're telling me all original. We never changed any of the recipes from day one. We use real butter, real milk eggs. Yes. So what about these elephant ears? What are they? And why are they world famous? Why are they world famous? They were voted number one best food in the world to eat many years ago and they're flaky. It's got brown sugar, cinnamon. They're hand rolled with love with love. How many do you sell a day? Did you tell me around 4 to 600 a day? If that's amazing and look at all of it that you have here, everything and you say all natural ingredients we try to use all natural ingredients. Yes. So this is filled. What does it look like at the end of the day? Is it completely wiped? It's completely wiped out and we have to start this all over again and it wouldn't be possible without caring. You're the pastry chef. You do all the cakes here too. Yes, I do. I mean every cake you say is your baby. Yeah, they're all my babies and they all, they're all made with love. So let's call out a few of them that you, that you want to show me. Uh Well, this is our most popular is the beach cake. Uh The shark cake is close to my heart. I made that one for my granddaughter. Um, this is a, a showstopper, of course is the sunset. Um This is a new one this year. Our cosmic cake. Our Tiki Hut is very popular and our Adirondack chair. Yes. The Adirondack chairs are very popular and our Deluxe Mermaid. That's a new one that we started last year. Every little girl watching right now is like mom. I want that and my trademark is all my cakes glitter. I love that. I think Simon will appreciate that one too. So, what time do you open? And what time do you close? We open at 730 in the morning, seven days a week and we close at 10 pm every night. Ok. And any of us that want to get down here because there could be some lines. Yes, you have to come early if you want some of our sticky buns and we have a lot of butter cream fans. You have to be here early. We run out very quickly on some of our so and one more note because I want to get for so if I was a, was a cookie, this would be me a las cookie and cannoli ft cheesecake cone. They're delicious. They're very popular. Ok, Simon Nick, I'm taking everything home with me and I'm bringing it all to. We're not in LBIS. We celebrate the best beaches of New Jersey. And 12 is celebrating some of the best beaches in New Jersey this morning. We're on Long Beach Island for some family fun. Yeah. News. 12 Lauren do is in Beach Haven. Checking out all the fun out there. Lauren. Look at you. What are you doing? It doesn't get any more family friendly than this guy on the carousel. John. You're here. I mean, what a great spot. I feel like I'm in Disney World, but I'm actually in Beach Haven on Long Beach Island. You are. And thanks for coming here. Exactly. So this is a pretty big year as well. It is. It's our 40th anniversary season this year. So here in Beach Haven we're celebrating all season long Fantasy Island amusement park. Yes. So what are you hours? So our rides are open at 4 p.m. every day and the front midway and our arcade open at 11 every day. Very fun. It is. Does this place get pretty bad because rich, so everyone would look like. So this is, you know, it's our summer season. So everybody comes out at night. Enjoys all the family fun that we have here. You get a, a snack at the ice cream parlor, you get to go on all the rides, you get to play your boardwalk games, go in the arcade. We got a little something for everybody in the family here and generally the age ranges that you have here too. Absolutely. So we consider ourselves family friendly for pretty much everybody. We have a lot, we have 18 rides. Um, so we have lots for the little guys and all the kitty rides. And then we also have our roller coaster. We have our lighthouse launch, we have our giant wheels, so we have something for the teenagers and the family. And then of course, we have our brand new Sea Dragons Revenge this year, which is a, a replacement of an old ride, but it's everybody's favorite Sea Dragon. Revenge. Is that scary? Um, I mean, I guess it depends on your thoughts on that. I'm not a big, uh, Sea Dragon, uh, revenge rider, but most of the kids love it. I'm not a big ride person and I'm like carousel. Yeah, this is my too. And by the way, every ride is inspected too, which is why we're not riding this right now. Absolutely. Exactly. Anything else you want to share with everyone? Oh, when is the, uh, are you open year round? What are the dates? So our rides are open until labor weekend and then we have our fall schedule which were just weekends and then our arcade is open year round on the weekends. Wow, you guys are pretty busy around. We absolutely do anything you want to add to everyone. Uh, no, just come visit us down here in Beach Haven as we celebrate our 40th anniversary. And we are celebrating the best beaches in New Jersey this morning. We're on LB I Yes. News twelve's Lauren do is in Beach Haven from the amusement park to thundering surf water park. Lauren's been showing us around. It looks like so much fun out there. It is. It's on my neck. So fitting that it's raining on us. So it is kind of fitting the vibe here, Chris, I mean, this place looks amazing. It looks brand new and you're telling me it's really old. Well, it's been here for 48 years. So we started in 1977 and we've been continuously operating here since 1977. It's the oldest water park in the whole world. So you must be in the Guinness Book of World Records for running this for the longest time. I'm actually in the World Hall of Fame for it. Yes. There you go. So, what makes this place so great? Well, it's a family place and we, we, we love that the fact that it's all families. We have lots of baby carriages and, and families. So we have lots of things that are, that are more oriented toward families we have the toddler area. We have a children's play structure. We have a flow rider, a lazy river flow rider, flow rider, standing surfing wave that we have racer rides and we have body slides and tube slides. So we have a lot for everybody and we're in the splash pad area and yes, thankfully, it's not turned on. This is a dancing water fountain. So we're standing in the water fountain. So how do you keep it looking so fresh? Well, it's a project all winter long. We spend making it nice and new again, bringing in new things, doing new things and, and so we spent eight months making it look good for four months. Well, this looks really inviting. Tell everyone what the hours are and how they can find you. We're open 930 to 67 days a week all the way through September 8th this year. So we'd love to have you come. We're selling family fun. Here. There you go. And we're making memories for the last 48 years. That's what we really strive soon to be 50. So that's pretty amazing, pretty amazing accomplishment right there. The time is 745 news. 12 is celebrating the best beaches in New Jersey. And this morning we're on Long Beach Island for some family fun news. Twelve's Lauren de is in Beach Haven a lot of fun this morning, but also educational. Lauren take us around the New Jersey Maritime Museum. Yeah, it's time to get historical and this place is so cool. Deborah. I don't even know where to start in here. There's a lot to see and you'll never see it in one day, Deborah. What is your official title, uh founder, founder and president of the New Jersey Maritime Museum. How did you get all of this? And how do you know about everything here? 53 years of obsessive research. It truly is. It. It's a love and a passion for study in New Jersey maritime history. And we just want to tell everybody you have to come here and check it out. Number one, it also smells fantastic in here too. I don't even know what the smell is but it smells so great. There's two floors here and we want to go into the back room because not everyone knows that there was a shipwreck right off of Asbury Park, 90 year anniversary for this. And you have an entire room dedicated to it. Exactly when we were building the New Jersey Maritime Museum. My husband was the general contractor and I said we need to have one room devoted solely to this shipwreck. We had the largest collection of artifacts and memorabilia of the Morrow Castle of any museum or institution in the world. What stands out the most? What do people want to come in here and see? Well, the, there's so many personal tragic stories associated with the Morrow Castle. That life ring over. There was a recent donation from a man whose family happened to be on vacation when the Morro Castle ended up in front of Convention Hall in Asbury Park. And two people were clinging to that life ring. And unfortunately, due to the turbulence of the sea and, uh, the inability of the people on the beach to save those two people, they drowned. But this man's father kept the life ring. And, um, when he passed away, it became his. Well, that's amazing that you have it. And thanks for sharing that story. It's time for best beaches this morning. We're on Long Beach Island, enjoying some family fun news swells. Lauren do is in Beach Haven where there are the amusement park, water park museum, higher Ship tour. So many things that you're checking out. Such a fun place. Lauren? Oh, hello. M we have made it to the black pearl pirate ship here and I Rory the Irish Pirate. Hi, Matey. A and you teach people how to speak. I indeed we do when the little ones right on board, they're gonna learn how to talk like pirates, dance like pirates, the parts of the ship. And of course, there's some hidden treasure in it to you as well. Oh, so tell me about this. And how do you get on the boat? How do you get on the pirates? So a wonderful way to get on the boat is we book online and you can do so by doing our website, visit at our Google. And um you can always call us as well. We're happy to help you out. But indeed, once you do get on board, there's quite an adventure awaiting you. Oh, there is, there's cannons over here going on. Indeed. Sometimes we need cannons. When we battle with the dreaded pirate, Pete, he gets a little mischievous to see and he steals our pirate treasure keys quite often, Pete. And at the end you get this. I indeed, this is the treasure, the treasured treasure. Indeed. And, uh, every little pirate on board brave and small gets a bit of a treasure at the end of the day. That's awesome. Ok. Let's teach everyone home how to speak a little bit of pirate. All right. So, of course, when you're greeting a new pirate, you want to be sure to give them your best greeting. Your friendliest. A hi, matey. Oh, hi, mate. Well done. And if you ever need to agree with another pirate for your trades and deal you're gonna go with. I, I, I a and, uh, you know, if you ever need to throw a good pirate insult around the best one you've got is Lily Lo and land lover. Lily. Loving land lover. Your nails it right there. You're a pirate. Indeed. I'm not Lauren. To you anymore. Lily. Loving land lover. There. You have it. You did? Great. Did you have a pirate name for yourself? No. All right.
