Police in Toms River have arrested the man who allegedly robbed a TD Bank on Mule Road Monday afternoon.
The suspect, identified as Angelo Grenci of Berkeley Township, was arrested Tuesday morning at the Friendly's restaurant on Route 37. Investigators say he was armed with a large knife at the time of his arrest.
The Toms River Police Department says that after posting surveillance photos of the robbery on their Facebook page and in the media, tips from the public began to pour in about the suspect. Police were able to identify the suspect as Grenci and received a tip that he would be at the Friendly's Tuesday morning.
When police arrived, they say that Grenci was seated alone inside the restaurant. He allegedly tried to give officers a fake name when he was arrested.
Grenci is being held on $110,000 bail for the bank robbery charges.
