Authorities say they?ve busted a ?significant? heroin ring that extends through three New Jersey counties.
Authorities arrested 13 suspects allegedly connected to the ring Thursday. Most of the suspects are reputed members of the Bloods street gang, according to investigators.
The Union County prosecutor says the bust is significant because it involves a potent form of heroin being sold to support a violent street gang.
The group allegedly sold as much as $78,000 worth of heroin per week. Investigators seized several thousand dollars in cash, a safe, two luxury vehicles, five guns and 32 grams of heroin in the raid.
Investigators had been looking into the operation since May. The ring is described by prosecutors as a family business, and is believed to have been run by brothers Sadiel and Joel Gonzalez and their father Juan.
Each of the Gonzalezes is locked up on $4-5 million bail.
