UMDNJ was evacuated Friday afternoon so authorities could investigate devices feared to possibly be bombs that were found outside the Newark hospital.
Officials say bomb-sniffing dogs identified a suspicious package at an underground loading dock outside the hospital around 11 a.m. After it was found, the first and second floors of the hospital were evacuated. The third floor was also partially evacuated.
The evacuees included doctors, patients and critically ill patients. The building was later reopened as both devices were deemed not explosive around 1 p.m.
No injuries were reported as a result of the package or evacuation.
