A live experience of the holiday classic “Polar Express” is being performed in New Jersey – inspired by the animated movie.
The Whippany show is already sold out for the season, but those who were lucky enough to get tickets are in for a treat.
Actors portray the characters that everyone knows from the 2004 animated movie, which is itself based on a 1985 children’s book.
“Growing up I watched the movie all the time. And it’s super exciting to be able to recreate our own version of that,” says performer Kimmi Neuschulz.
The train trip has become a holiday tradition for some New Jersey families.
“And seeing the entire family light up with like just joy really gets you somewhere special,” says performer Brad Keller.
And no trip to the North Pole would be complete without meeting its most famous resident – Santa Claus.
There will be as many as five performances per day. But the event is sold out for the season.
