A group of high school students say that they are stranded in Europe for a few days due to an airport strike in Germany.
The Westfield High School choir took a spring break trip to Finland, Estonia and Latvia. They were there performing and touring the countries.
The teens and their chaperones were supposed to fly home Monday, but the strike at the major airports in Germany has kept them grounded.
“I think there is a little bit of both stress and excitement about this whole thing. Because people are happy that we get to spend more time with our friends and get to explore this amazing city. But at the same time we’re going to be missing even more school than we thought we were,” says student Matt Siroty.
The group of about 70 people is tentatively booked on a flight home Thursday.
